The Palette Knife is a perfect tool for mixing pigments.
When mixing paint (especially oil paint) the pigments are supposed to melt into each other. If you use a brush to mix, it won't work as most of the time where will be some pigment left on the bristles. Which is a waste plus the paint will never be in the consistency you wish to use. Using the palette knife it is way easier to get to the consistency you require.
The lightweight metal blade allows you to work flexible and make reliefs (works on thicker paint only).
